The Small Group Ministry of Tequesta’s First Baptist Church is designed to connect believers to the body of Christ through intimate relationships that have God’s Word at the center. Small Groups meet at various times and locations throughout the week, making it possible for everyone to be involved. The groups are intended to create opportunities for worship, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry.
What is a Small Group?
A small group is a group of up to 15 people who gather together for Bible study, growth in friendships and growth in their relationships with God.
Why should I get involved in a Small Group?
Everyone needs relationships (friends) and everyone needs someone to pick them up when they fall. Small Groups provide a place where you can "do life" together with others and a place where you can belong during your life’s journey.
Who attends a Small Group?
Everyone! Adults who are married, single, in college, with children, without children, or "empty-nesters"… Tequesta’s Church has a Small Group for every age group, no matter if you are new to our church or have been attending for awhile. These groups are open to receive new friends.
What is the length of a typical small group gathering?
About 11/4 to 2 hours.
Where do small groups meet?
Small groups meet in a variety of places. Some meet on our campus, some meet in homes, others may choose to meet in a local coffee shop or other public place. The key is that each group is in a place that is comfortable and convenient for its members.
What do small groups study?
The small groups of Tequesta’s Church study the Bible based on two different approaches. At times throughout the year, the groups will all study the same material, particularly when there is a church wide emphasis taking place. Other times throughout the year, small groups will decide what material they would like to study based on the needs of each particular group.
Is childcare provided for small groups?
Childcare is provided on Sunday mornings from 9:15 until noon and Wednesdays from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm.
When can I join a small group?
Anytime! There is always room for new people to sign up for a small group.
